Cooperative Learning
Cooperative Learning is a method of learning that requires positive interdependence within a group of students (a sense of sail or sink together), individual accountability (each of us has to contribute and learn), interpersonal skills (communication, trust, leadership, decision making, and conflict resolution), face-to-face positive interaction, and evaluation (reflecting on how well the team is functioning and how to improve).
Cooperation is working together to accomplish shared goals. Within cooperative activities individuals seek outcomes that are beneficial to themselves and beneficial to all other group members. The idea is simple. Class members are organized into small groups after receiving instruction from the teacher. They then work through the assignment until all group members successfully understand the assignment and have completed it. (more information in http://www.co-operation.org/pages/cl.html )
